The Montreal Impact may have only joined MLS in 2012, but they've been around for 20 years.
The club celebrates that history with their new third shirt unveiled on Wednesday night at a private event held at New City Gas in Montreal. The new black-and-blue strip, which features two buttons along the front, harkens back to the 1998 team which won the club's first Can-Am Cup and will be available here.

"In talking with the ownership, they had a very strong opinion that they wanted to make a reference back to their championship-winning team in '98," explained adidas product manager Mike Walker. "And so we've done a blue-and-black striped jersey for them that really pays homage to that team. ... It's a very good look. A very classic look for them."
There's more. Given that 2013 represents the Impact's 20th anniversary, the third kit features a call-out on the back of the jersey noting the years of existence of the club, surrounded by what else: a fleur-de-lis representative of the city.
