As usual, the designs were generally of a very high standard and Boro were hugely impressed with what was put forward.  Accordingly, we'll leave it to them to do the honours:

"Middlesbrough Futsal Club, in conjunction with DesignFootball.com, ran a competition to design the club's new strip for 2010-11.  The competition received over 150 entries, with some fantastic and innovative designs, and some awful ones!  A huge thank you to everyone who entered, and special mention to Morgan O'Brien, Ben Biro and Matupeco, who all contributed several fantastic designs. See all the entries here.

The designs were whittled down to 20 finalists, which can be viewed here and from the final 20, dF, Errea and Middlesbrough Futsal Club conferred to come up with the winning design.

The winner will receive a kit, courtesy of Sala Sports, an official Errea Point, and kit supplier to Middlesbrough Futsal Club, a family season ticket for two seasons to all Middlesbrough home matches, and the winning design with their name and number on.

Boro Chairman Damon Shaw is delighted with the final design.  'There were some amazing designs and it wasn't easy to choose the winner, but I am happy that the team will look the part next season with the one we have chosen.  I had in mind when Erreà first said that they would make a custom kit to go with pinstripes, and the retro feel has started to become very popular.  I think we have a kit that will look good with jeans and on the players.'

As per the competition rules, the final design may be amended due to manufacturing and cost restraints but the essence of the winning design has been kept and the winner is...Morgan O'Brien with this design below.

The actual final design can be found below, as drawn by Erreà with the following modifications:

-Inside of collar kept blue (not visible when worn)
-Erreà logo in white (Erreà's decision)
-Claw marks on the side removed (too costly to implement with extra panel and stitching)

Thanks to everyone for entering, Erreà for offering to make the custom kit and DesignFootball.com for hosting the competition!

So over to Morgan to contact Boro to collect his winnings.  Massive congratulations to him and the rest of the top twenty from all at dF.  We look forward to all of your entries in our next competition.

A huge thank you to Boro as well for involving us.  We should point out that the sponsor that will adorn the new kit is still to be confirmed and at time of publishing this great opportunity was still up for grabs.  For further details please visit the Middlesbrough Futsal Club website here.

So Middlesbrough will soon be the best dressed team in Futsal.  We wish them very well and the best of luck in all their future pursuits.
