According to our friends from the AACCF, Club Atlético Independiente of Argentina today formalized that their first team will be dressed by the german firm Puma from next Clausura tournament, which begins in February.
The official news spread that the institution of Avellaneda said that "PUMA is the new brand who will provide the kits for the first team of Atletico Independiente.

There will be a new campaign for the "Red Devils" fans rarely seen in professional football. Eleven fans will have the privilege of presenting the new kits on February 22nd, 2009, just before the derby againt Racing.
To achieve that dream, fans will have to choose the most important events in the history of Independiente and the most glorious players of the institution and if selected, 11 of them will enter the playing field minutes before Independiente-Racing match.
Fans can enter the competition on January 7th at www.ponetelaroja.com where they will have the opportunity to participate in the competition tand o enter the stadium with the new official jersey at the kit launch when they win.
The first two dates of the championship Independiente's players will wear a memorial shirt -in the style of the seventies-, with special designs. Versus Vélez, on February 11st each will hold a shield with one of the 11 most important events in the history of the club, chosen by the fans, and versus San Martin de Tucuman the shirts show the 11 legends of the "Reds" who were selected by fans.
22 jerseys will be auctioned to benefit the "Red Solidario", the club's non-profit foundation. There will be only 104 commemorative T-shirts sold with the 70's design, so the historical value of them is even more important.
Moreover, thanks to their own contacts, The AACCF revealed that the "Reds" signed a contract with the Coca Cola Company and the drink Powerade will be the sponsor on the sleeves of the new Puma shirt, something that still has not been officially revealed, but they can confirm it after having checked sources both at the club and the company.
