Covsupport is backing calls for City to lower their shirt prices for the coming season
The Sky Blues are to bring out a new shirt on July 20th and supporters groups including the Sky Blue Trust have called for the price of this shirt to be £30 with a 10% discount for season ticket holders and flexicard holders, a price in common with a number of Premiership clubs.
The Sky Blues change their home or away shirt every season and with a home shirt costing less than ten pounds to make, a price of £30 represents good value for money for supporters, a good mark up for the club and is an attractive proposition which would definitely help to sell more shirts.
Last season Manchester City supporters were not happy about their new home kit. Why? Because it looked like a Coventry City kit..
A report on Vital Football's Manchester City site carried a vote about the kit with 64% replying "Not impressed - I hate Coventry!"
The report goes onto say "Twice as many of you were underwhelmed by the 06/07 design, which to me has more than a hint of Coventry City about it and at best, looks like a hybrid of last years home and away shirts - obviously a lot of thought and design effort gone in to this one !"
