Stockport County new 07/08 diadora home football kit

Stockport County have released their new kits for the 2007/2008 season, in conjunction with new sponsors and new suppliers. The home kit is blue, with a white band going across the chest with the sponsors name.

The badge is centered above the band, and the suppliers name is above that. There are little white and gold strips on the top of the sleeves and shorts, and the socks are white with the County written on them.

The away kit is basically the same, but the colours are swapped around. A good image of the away kit is not yet available, though the away kit was modeled by Jim Gannon and his fellow backroom staff!

A third kit is also to be released and with Chesterfield wearing the same colours as County, it could be used for that game on the second weekend of the season. No news is yet to be released on that front though. The kit will be on sale the day of the Dagenham home game, 11th August in the club shop.

Stockport County have signed a new kit sponsorship deal with manufacturer Diadora in 2007. The deal will see Diadora make County's kits for the next 3 seasons and preparations are already well under way on the new strip for this coming season. The Kit will still allow County to retain our unique design and will still have the ability to involve the fans in the design as was the case in last seasons kit. According to Peter Terry, MD of Diadora UK, 'The new kit design looks fantastic with its combination of great styling, advanced fabric technology and Italian passion which will enable the players and staff to achieve their ultimate performance' I'm sure we all look forward to seeing the final kit design when it is released and hopefully a successful partnership with Diadora in the future!

County fans travelling to Dublin for the Hatters' friendly against UCD will be in for a surprise.

With the fantastic brand new home strip not set to be unveiled until Sunday July 29th, kit suppliers Diadora have provided the club with a new strip which will only be used for pre-season friendlies. And, with Diadora based in Italy, the new shirt has an Italian theme with a County connection.

And, with Diadora based in Italy, the new shirt has an Italian theme with a County connection. The lads will run out in Dublin wearing Inter Milan style blue and black stripes which is a replica of our away colours in 1972-73. Lets jump into the time machine and set it for September 1972 at Selhurst Park, London.

After edging out Bradford City in the League Cup first round, County were drawn away to Crystal Palace, then riding high in the old First Division. Not many outside Stockport gave the Hatters a prayer but they created history by becoming the first Fourth Division side to win a League Cup tie away from home against First Division opposition. And Brian Doyle's men could even afford the luxury of Ian Lawther missing a penalty as Hugh Ryden emerged as the hero with the only goal of the game.

In fairness, though, Palace, who had beaten Manchester City in their previous home fixture, peppered the County goal and it needed a miraculous performance from legendary keeper Alan Ogley to secure the famous victory in the blue and black stripes. Round three saw Bobby Moore and his star studded West Ham United team blown away on an emotionally charged night at Edgeley Park ... but that's another story!
