Palmeiras 08/09 Home Adidas kit launched

Palmeiras launched its new 08/09 Home football kit made by adidas. Palmeiras was founded by Luigi Cervo, Vicenzo Ragognetti, Luigi Emanuele Marzo and Ezequiel Simone, four Italian men who were members of the Italian-speaking community of São Paulo in 1914 and was initially named Società Sportiva Palestra Italia.

Its original colours were red, white and green (those of Italy). The name change occurred during World War II. Brazil entered the war supporting the allies and its dictatorship forced Palestra Italia to change its name because of the reference to Italy.

The original badge (a white ornamental "P" in a shield) is still present in the current one and the club has used red as a third colour (mostly in friendly games during the club's 75th anniversary). Palmeiras have played in blue shirts twice as a tribute to the Italian National Team.

The text has some wrong information: the third kit of Palmeiras is light green, not red and the original colours of the team in foundation are BLUE, white and green, not red ( again)

Nice kit. Strange thing about sponsors on football shirts though, how so many of us are happy to walk around with an unrelated company\'s name splashed all over our clothes. If I bought a nice casual shirt, something to perhaps wear out for a nice meal, I\'d be horrified if, slap bang in the middle of it, was the word \"Tesco\" in 3 inch high letters. And yet, if it\'s a football shirt, I\'ll happily ignore it. Actually, the FIAT logo is quite stylish (as far as logos go) and sits nicely on this shirt.

Sweet kit! It really shows off that beautiful shade of green without any s*u*i* ugly frills. It\'s brilliant in its simplicity. But isn\'t it funny how it\'s the dude who has the NHO (nipple hard-on)?

I think the shirt looks good even with the HUGE sponsor.
