adidas, the leading football brand, has given Orlando Pirates a new look home kit for the 2010/2011 season which kicks off with the Telkom Charity Cup this weekend.
The most significant feature of the new Orlando Pirates jersey is the return to a clean, classic look which includes a collar for the first time in many seasons.

“For the home jersey -we took inspiration from previous Orlando Pirates jerseys –particularly the very first jersey donned by the club in 1937 –which featured a white collar. More importantly, we had a lot of close interaction with the club to make sure that we produce a world class product for a world class club,” says Kevin Jooste, the Football Category Manager at adidas South Africa.
The jersey features climacool technology- a combination of performance fabrics, open mesh and ventilation channels which keep cool air flowing in and heat and sweat flowing out.
Climacool works by considering how and where the body produces heat and sweat, and focus’s specific fabric and garment features in those zones. The effect is that athletes stay dry, comfortable and perform at their peak in even the most heated competitions.
The jersey will be available in retail shops from Friday, 06th of August, 2010.
