PUMA has unveiled the new 10/11 home and away football kits that Platinum Stars will sport during the new PSL season.
The v1.10 speed kit is inspired by the joy, rhythm and athleticism of Africa football and has the same design as that worn by Ghana, Algeria, Ivory Coast and Cameroon at the 2010 Soccer World Cup.

The PSL team launched the kit on Friday, August 13 at the Royal Bafokeng sport campus in Phokeng. The kit includes a crocodile as a new team logo: the Bafokeng, like many African communities, are symbolised by a totem that is linked to the history and the heritage of the community. For the Bafokeng that totem is the crocodile.
“When Platinum Stars signed an agreement for PUMA to become the official technical supplier to the club ahead of the 2009/10 PSL season, we knew we were going into partnership with an established, world-class international sportswear brand. The technical excellence of the apparel PUMA has supplied to us is of the highest quality and we are delighted to enter into this great new chapter in the club's history with PUMA by our side,” said Jason Raine, the General Manager of Platinum Stars.
The partnership between PUMA and Platinum Stars is entering its second season and the team has high hopes for the 2010/11 season. The team will play its home games at the Royal Bafokeng Stadium which hosted six World Cup matches including ties between England and the USA, Ghana and Australia.
“We are delighted to continue building our relationship with Stars who are one of the most ambitious teams in the PSL, have a terrific World Cup standard home ground and are set for great things when the new season kicks off. We are confident that our new kit design will sit well with the fans and will inspire the players on the pitch,” said Brett Bellinger, the Marketing Director of PUMA SA.
PUMA went to West Africa for inspiration for the revolutionized new v1.10 collection. Inspired by the joy, rhythm and athleticism of Africa football, products from the v1.10 series have been developed and tested for super speed-enhancing performance and to boost innovative styles of play by unleashing the confidence of players, teams and fans.
Platinum Stars open the 2010/11 PSL season away to Witbank Black Aces on August 29.
