The Huddersfield Town first team will wear a special one-off kit in honour of 'Help for Heroes', the charity that supports wounded British Armed Forces servicemen and women, at the upcoming npower League 1 game against Walsall on Saturday 5 November.
The special shirt, which is mainly white but which featured the colours of 'Help for Heroes' - blue and red - in the chevron around the neck - will also be available to buy in the Stadium Superstore and online at htafcmegastore.com in limited numbers from Saturday 8 October!

'Help for Heroes' was founded by Bryn and Emma Parry in October 2007 out of a desire to help the wounded servicemen and women returning from Afghanistan and Iraq. The message of the charity is simple: they are strictly non-political and non-critical; they simply want to help. They believe that anyone who volunteers to serve in time of war, knowing that they may risk all, is a hero. These are ordinary people to extraordinary things and some of them are living with the consequences of their service for life. They realise they are not able to prevent our soldiers from being wounded, but that together we can help to get them better.
To help with the announcement of the kit, Huddersfield Town manager Lee Clark was joined at the Stadium by three former servicemen - all pictured above wearing the one-off shirt, tailored by Umbro.
Lance Corporal Stephen Hurst, now living in Mirfield, was a member of the Army for 12 years, whereas Aircraft Engineering Mechanic Guy Bradley served in the Navy for five and a half years. Both Town fans, they joined Clark and current First Team Physio Dave Buckby, who was a Flight Lieutenant in the RAF for 16 years before joining the Terriers.
Lance Corporal Hurst commented:
"My regiment has done two tours in Afghanistan so far and roughly 30 to 40 people have been hurt in the line of duty. I still have friends that are affected by the things that have gone on out there and the rehabilitation, and the support they receive from 'Help for Heroes', is vital. It's a fantastic thing and I'm delighted that my local club wants to chip in and do its part."
AEM Bradley added:
"The Navy needs the support of 'Help for Heroes' too as we have pilots, aircraft engineers and Marines out in Afghanistan and Iraq, Having served I always keep my eye out for activities 'Help for Heroes' take part in and try and help out where I can.
"I'm delighted that my Club - Huddersfield Town - are supporting 'Help for Heroes' - and I believe it's a great looking kit too! I'm sure we'll sell out as it's a great cause - I think I was one of the few men who bought the pink and white striped kit in support of breast cancer research a few years ago too!"
Huddersfield Town's Commercial Director Sean Jarvis commented:
"We also owe a massive debt of gratitude to the sponsors that usually appear on our home shirt for giving up their rights for this game; without them we could not have supported the charity in this way and they deserve a lot of credit. Our gratitude goes out to Kirklees College, Wilby, Stafflex and Kirklees Active Leisure, who are allowing 'Terry the Terrier' to join in too!

A limited edition of 500 shirts will go out in store and online at 9am on Saturday (8 October), ranging from extra small boys to XXL inclusive. Junior shirts will be priced at £32, with adult shirts priced at £40.
