DC United 2012 adidas home away football shirts

D.C. United unveiled its new uniforms for the 2012 Major League Soccer season. With MLS clubs implementing new adidas kits in two-year cycles, the Black-and-Red will begin using their new strips beginning FirstKick weekend in March. Additionally, United’s 2011 third jersey will continue to be used in non-League encounters, including Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup fixtures and international friendlies.

United maintains its iconic all-black home uniforms moving into 2012, with the club’s new white away jerseys featuring a red collar. Both jerseys feature an embossed District of Columbia flag, paying homage to United’s 16-year history in the Metropolitan Area. Four stars, representing United’s four MLS Cups, remain fixed above the team crest.

I'm not convinced with either, unless the home kit is in a long sleeve, which it is then pretty good. But short sleeved on either, considering the brilliant colour schemes they have, isn't much to look at.

the red shape on the leaves is pointless on both kits.
The collar on the white shirt looks cheap.
The black shirt could have been quiet nice without the red shape on the sleeves.
The white shirt will be nice for gardening.

for D.C. these are great kits! I love the extra red, Adidas have done the exact same with new Revolution kits too and it looks classy, as it does on the away. Only thing I don't like is the collar on away but apart from that another job well done from Adidas!

Whats wrong with these kits? Think the white looks classy and clean despite the big collar and the black are fine as well. DC United have always had a great color scheme to almost make it impossible to have ugly kits.
