Derby County revealed their new Kappa away kit design for the forthcoming 2012-13 season.

Nigel Clough's men will wear an all-black away strip on the road next season - which will also be accompanied with a hint of orange on Kappa's logo as well as shirt sponsors BuyMobiles, which appear on the kit.

Moving away from using the full Derby County logo on their shirts, the Rams have opted to display an embroidered outline Ram crest on all of their kits from the start of next season.

The Club have decided to make this change to demonstrate that Derby County are 'The Rams', and also rekindle links with their heritage.

The outline Ram logo appeared on Derby's shirts during the most successful period in the Club's history in the early 1970s - winning the First Division title on two occasions, first under Brian Clough and then Dave Mackay - and also made a brief comeback in the early 1990s.

Produced by Derby's new kit manufacturers Kappa, who last month signed a five-year partnership deal with the Rams, the all-black skin fit strip is 100% polyester interlock with moisture wicking.

Modelled by Derby County trio Theo Robinson, Jeff Hendrick and John Brayford, the shirt will get an early run-out next season with Clough's men expected to don the kit in their second league game of the season, away to Bolton Wanderers on Tuesday 21st August 2012.

Speaking about the design of the new shirt, Derby County's Vice President of Operations John Vicars said: "The new away shirt is going to very popular and we're delighted with the kit Kappa have produced, both in terms of how it looks and also the quality of the product.

"Everyone who has seen it has commented on its striking design and look, which is great to hear.

"Personally, I think it's one of the best away kits that we have seen for a long time."

The away kit has also received a big thumbs-up from the Rams' dressing room and right-back John Brayford said: "The new away kit looks fantastic and all the lads have commented on just how good the look and feel of it is.

"It looks really smart and I am sure our fans will be equally impressed with it as well. The new design is very good on the eye and I can't wait to pull it on for the first time."

Derby County's shirt sponsors BuyMobiles have changed the look and feel of their logo to accompany Derby's new shirt design and Paul Sisson, Managing Director of BuyMobiles, said: "We love the look of the new away kit and we're sure the fans will feel the same way.

"The black away kit has always been one of my favourites; so I am really pleased we have got one while we are sponsors."

The shirt will officially go on sale on Friday 27th July 2012.
