Brazil 2014 Nike World Cup Home Football Kit

The new Brazil football kit, by Nike, to be worn throughout 2014 and during the country's hosting of the Brazil 2014 World Cup, has been unveiled and will be available here.

The shirt is in the standard yellow and has green "Y-neck" collar and cuff trim as well as the Nike Swoosh logo in green and a stitched crest - with gold coloured metallic weave added for a shimmering effect and slightly enlarged.  Behind the crest is the legend “Nascido para jogar futebol” - Brasilian Portuguese for “Born to Play Football”.

There is also a small yellow canary motif, representing “Canarinho”, the nickname given to the team.

To be worn with the shirt, and controverting rumours concerning one-colour kits, the shorts are in the usual blue and the socks the traditional white.

Containing the usual Nike technology (Dri-FIT, "burnout" mesh and laser-cut ventilation holes) the kit should regulate body temperature, wick sweat (via a new double knit combination of cotton and polyester) and keep the players performing at their optimum level.

The name and number printing on each kit have been carefully designed as well, with micro fine pinholes for moisture management and cooling, and a fluorescent outline to aid visibility. The name and number style is inspired by fonts widely used on Brazilian hand-printed street posters.  All shirts worn by players and sold in Brazil are made in Brazil.

The whole kit, including the socks, is made from recycled bottles so is friendly to the planet as well as including the required performance technology for the pitch.
