Aston Villa 2018-19 Luke 1977 Home Kit

Aston Villa 2018-19 Luke 1977 Home Kit

Aston Villa revealed the new home kit for the 18/19 season. The Villans will wear the new home strips for the coming campaign, with Luke 1977 as Official Technical Partner.

The traditional claret home shirt celebrates the rich history of the club. Old-school striping with quadruple banded ribbed cuffs and V-neck signify Villa’s position as one of the 12 founding members of William McGregor’s football league 130 years ago. A symbol of McGregor’s famous statue outside Villa Park is featured on the upper back.

Fanatics, a global leader in performance sport garments, come in as their Official Kit Manufacturer – as part of the groundbreaking three-way partnership which puts the fans first.

    This has to be one of the most uninspiring kits out there today! All this talk about Luke Roper this Luke Roper that and all he’s done is produce a very basic shirt. There is nothing remotely unique about this shirt that sets is apart from kits from previous seasons. Aston Villa didn’t need Luke Roper, the whole football world know Aston Villa but even outside of football, who knows Luke Roper? All this guys done is use the fact that he is local to enhance the profile of his brand. What a disappointment. I feel sorry for the fans who will have to buy this rubbish.

    @brian yes he really hasn't lived up to the hype - very dull kit. Plus I wonder if company has infrastructure to really support supply and delivery on this scale - time will tell.

    @Dj How is it cheap looking?

    Is it the material that's cheap?

    What does it feel like when you hold it or touch it?

    Best kit in years. Also supporting an independent brand instead of the giants who don’t need anymore. Bravo. Excellent.

    Wow, I wish Celtic could do the same and have independent based kits like this.
    It may not be the most popular move with younger fans, but as a 39 year old
    I love it.

    @Footyfanatic Feel the same way, on the original kit from the late 19th century the whole sleeve was to Ben sky blue and this has just disappointed my expectations as a traditionalist

    @brian Absolutely spot on Brian.

    I saw it as a chance to do some special and unique and it's a pile of sh1te.

    Given the recent arguments about the 'correct' shade of claret in a Villa kit, they might have done well to avoid shadow stripes for next season.

    @tom bola Considering Burnley & West Ham chose their colours because of Villa then I'd say it was those two copying Villa.
