Fiorentina 2018/19 Le Coq Sportif Football Kits

Fiorentina 2018/19 Le Coq Sportif Football Kits

Fiorentina and Le Coq Sportif revealed five new football shirts for the 2018-19 season.

Like last season, the brand has developed a collection of away kits which spotlights each of the city’s historic districts.

I think this is a pretty worrying development as far as kits go. Hopefully this is not the start of teams bringing out 4 or 5 kits a year thus ripping off the fans.

There will be kids and some adult morons who would inevitably want or attempt to get all 5 kits.

The third kit is bad enough but this is total lunacy. What was wrong with 2 kits (Home and Away)???

Just to clarify a few points (from a Fiorentina fan) so that people are aware:

LCS have worked closely with the club in the last couple of years to design bespoke kits that reflect the history and tradition of Fiorentina and the city of Florence.

As pointed out, the reason for the 4 kits - green, white, red and blue are to represent the 4 districts of Florence (N,E,S &W) which compete too in Calcio Fiorentina, the historic origin of pre-Association football in the city.

To be honest, I don't believe it is a 'money making scheme' for 2 reasons. Italy (and certainly Florence) does not have the shirt culture like Britain of fans all wanting the latest shirt! If anything, you will see at games a real range of new, old, retro and even fake/'stadia' copy shirts along with many that don't have one but display colours in other ways. It is more likely that Viola fans would go for the purple or maybe a colour of their district. The second reason is LCS only design us and St. Etienne so if money was the reason, surely they would look at supplying more teams?

The traditional purple shirt is home and this season will have black shorts, referencing the last scudetto win of '69. The different collar was part of this decision.

No news on sponsor yet. Divided opinion between having none to give retro look and rumour of Toscana Aeroporto (local region's airport) which might be popular as we're proud of not having the ubiquitous betting/airline/beer sponsors!

Sorry for long post but hope that helps!

I think the green and red ones are the goalkeeper kits. They were this year

@Donald Trumps Hair do And only use most of them once. Anzac, Heritage, women in league, and that horrendous Marvel round. My team also puts out a superman jersey, just because.

All in addition to the home and away options. And all sold at full price naturally.

@Stuart I forgot to mention that the goalie also wore all 5 (but mostly green) at different times last season so they all do get used more than once!

@Kev All the colours are for all players including the keeper not just green and red. The keeper wears a colour that’s not similar to the opposition

Last year, couple of the kits were used as keeper tops.
Smart and neat again from LCS.

Why do these kits look like they're made out of felt? Really cheap looking.

@CMAC The other colours are used in the historic football tournament in the city, so you can rest assured that it isn't a new trend.

@CMAC It's not like the fans are obliged typ buy every one of these five kits, a choice of five different colours simply enables the fans to pick the colour they prefer, I don't see how that's a rip off. Not saying five kits is the way to go, just saying for myself more options for which kit to buy for the club I support is quite intriguing.

@CMAC In general, yes. But Florence is a special case. Fiorentina have a reason to do it.
