Plymouth Argyle 18/19 Puma Away Kit

Plymouth Argyle 18/19 Puma Away Kit

Plymouth Argyle will wear a dynamic-looking Pepper Green and White quartered shirt in matches on the road in Sky Bet League One next season.

The shirt design is complemented by shorts and socks in the Pepper Green colour.

It will again carry the name of the club’s main sponsors, Ginsters, with the familiar logo of the Westcountry-based savoury pasty manufacturers front and centre on the shirt.

Firebird, market-leading manufacturers of heating products, are continuing their partnership as back-of-shirt sponsors.

Why is it so hard for people to fathom that it's about the shade of a colour and not the colour itself. Some teams wear orange against teams that wear red. Wolves did against Forest. Everton played at Man City with both teams wearing a shade of blue. Plymouth wear dark green and black stripes. You could argue that it wouldn't even clash with the likes of Yeovil, Panathinaikos, Werder Bremen or St Etienne, so dark is the green used. The clashes may come when they play teams with black, navy or even darker blues. For those games a light green and white change strip is perfect. European teams have been doing this for years. Celtic have managed just fine with frequent away kits in dark green or neon green.

“Our kit is green, so in case of kit clashes we need an alternative! Let’s make that green as well!”

    Great logic, guys...

An 'away' kit used it imply 'alternative' strip. That is if your home kit clashed with that of the opposition, then as away team, you were obliged to change strip. I struggle to understand how green and white quarters provides an alternative to Plymouth's home strip of green. Mind you, their home strip doesn't clash much, so it's difficult to fathom why Plymouth need another strip at all!
