Football Shirt Culture

As worn in last weekend’s defeat to Fortuna Düsseldorf, this is the SV Darmstadt 98 special “Easter ’98” shirt.

Celebrating the famous 1998 victory over Kickers Offenbach, the German 2. Bundesliga side’s Craft release features a chequerboard pattern in blue and white, and adds more retro flavour with the fleur-de-lis and sponsor patch in red - both in flock finish for fans of historical authenticity!

The inside of the neat collar has an inscription referring to said night in the “Red Hell”, reading, "...doch in ihrer roten Hölle hatten wir 'ne Menge Spaß!"

Adding the utility of already dual-purpose shorts and socks, the shirt was worn with blue items below the waist.

What do you think?
