It is that time of the year again! Karneval is upon us in Cologne, which also means 1. FC Köln is releasing a brand new Karneval kit. The new Karneval kit pays homage to the Roten Funken, one of the oldest and traditional of the many Karneval groups in Cologne. Following the white Karneval kits in 2013 and 2014, the 2015 kit is red and heavily influenced by the uniform of a Roten Funken Officer. The kit can be purchased from the online shop as well as all fan shops around the city.
The production of the Karneval kit was done in large part with the help of the FC kit provider, ERIMA. “I think our fans will like it,” said Managing Director Alexander Wehrle. “We are happy to work closely together with ERIMA, a partner that helped us develop this unique kit. We are also thankful to our kit sponsor REWE, who are fully on board with the design and motto of the kit.”
“This kind of a project is only possible with 1. FC Köln, and undoubtedly one of the reasons why our collaboration with this club is so much fun,” said ERIMA CEO Wolfram Mannherz. “We are proud of this idea and are excited to see how FC fans and the people of Cologne will react to it.”

1. FC Köln will wear the new kit in their home fixture against Mainz on November 21st, 2015. In accordance with the traditional style of the Roten Funken Officers, the FC players will complete the unique kit with white shorts and black socks. The kit is now available for 89.95 Euros (79.95 for kids). Fans will also have the opportunity to purchase an additional training jacket, fitting for the upcoming cooler temperatures.
