New York Cosmos unveiled their new 2015 third football shirt by Nike.
In a nod to their history, the Cosmos have resurrected the blue shirts of their glory years. Blue has always played a role in the identification of the club. Whether within the pinwheel accents of the team’s shield or earlier, pre-Pele shirts adorned in blue hues, the Cosmos have always counted blue amongst their identifiable colours.
The jersey itself is a template Nike shirt, with a button-down collar, adorned with a blue stripe across the rim. Simple blue accents surround the cuffs of the sleeves with FLY EMIRATES in clear, white lettering across the chest and team numbers on the upper right breast. It is a simple design, but one that does well to pay homage to the club’s history.
