England 2018 World Cup Nike Home Kit

England 2018 World Cup Nike Home Kit

This classic look, white shirt with blue shorts, is accented by red trimming. The modern rib collar is backed by a small St. George’s Cross and a blue Swoosh on the chest that complements the famous Three Lions crest in its traditional colors.

A star heralding English football’s greatest triumph sits above the crest in silver, completing the streamlined look.

England lays claim to several representative symbols. Two of the most famous are longstanding: the rose and the St. George’s Cross. A third, the Three Lions crest that adorns the chest of the English Football Association kit, has antecedents dating back to the twelfth century.

As design elements, each of these iconic emblems plays a prominent role in the England Football Association’s 2018 collection. They root the kit in history, and when married to Nike’s latest game-changing kit innovation, fast-forward tradition into an emboldened present.

As well as focusing on colours synonymous with England, the St. George’s Cross – which is sure to be seen flying from cars and terraces come tournament time – exists on the back neck of the home and away shirts.  The jerseys also feature a rosette (a reference to the rose that adorns the caps received by senior players each time they represent England) on the inside of the shirt.

The custom typeface used for player names draws from Johnston and Gil Sans, both quintessentially English fonts (the former with overground transport and the latter for association with London’s underground). The player numbers (which are backed by anti-cling nodes because athletes mentioned that previous number applications had caused the shirt to stick to their backs during extreme heat) have been moved from the center of the shirt to a more breathable zone below the crest.

Never liked the 'Tailored by Umbro' kits, always thought they were bland,a basic polo with a badge stuck on,the follow up with the s*u*i* little crosses was even worse. In my opinion England haven't had a decent home kit since the 2003 one.

What a dull World Cup year kit release. Come on FA get Umbro back pronto. Those beautiful tailored kits seem a very long time ago :(

Which Infants School do Nike recruit their kit designers from? God awful as have their other efforts been. Getting shut of Nike can’t come quick enough.

When they were dressed by umbro, the kit was always the special one, unique, different, any team not wearing similar equipment in the final tournament. Now with nike England become so common, the same pattern also Portugal, Brazil, Poland or France.

Home shirt looks like the 13/14 one but with a bit of red on,I bet the cheaper version won't even have the details that the player version will have making it even less desirable.
The away one is a lot better but somehow odd.
I prefer the training shirt with the blue and red gradient going down the front.

@Dala marsh Some basic punctuation would help to make sense of what you're trying to say.

Why use red numbers on the navy shorts though? I'm sure FIFA and UEFA would say something about the visibility.

Excellent kit - though after the abominable 2015-17 kit anything is an improvement

The red details save it. Not sure about the sagging collar however. Being Scottish it's not my problem. Wish this was our problem.
