Fiorentina 17/18 Le Coq Sportif Away Kits

ACF Fiorentina and Le Coq Sportif revealed the club's four new away kits, dedicated to the city of Florence and to its historic colours.

"4 Boroughs, 1 Purple Heart" is the theme which inspires the whole collection designed for La Fiorentina, a collection which, for the first time, will go beyond the traditional distinction between first, second and third-choice jerseys.

Thanks to the collaboration with city of Florence and the borough presidents, it is the red, blue, white and green colours which characterise the line of away jerseys designed by the French designers as a tribute to the sporting tradition of the historic boroughs and to Florentine calcio storico.

These kit makers are getting a bit self-indulgent with their "inspired by" nonsense. Just do a home and a white away. Job done.

Would have been easier to split the jersey in 4 sections like the pic, would have been extremely unique, 4 away kits no matter what they represent is taking the piss.

Just to put everyone in the picture, the concept us based on Calcio Fiorentina, the historical football/rugby hybrid game that the city played (and still do) before Association Football was adopted in Italy.

Each colour represents the four districts of the city - Green for San Giovanni (north), Blue for Santa Croce (east), White for Santo Spirito (south) and Red for Santa Maria Novella (west). Each district has its symbol detailing on the shirt but the home purple shirt has all 4 in a subtle crest.

As a Fiorentina fan who's just seen these for real at their training camp a couple of days ago, I can say that they look better in real life. I don't like the commercial exploitation of fans either but I imagine, based on last year, that the green and blue will be worn only by goalies. White is away and Red the Third - not that we'll need it with no Euro football thus year!

    Hope this info helps folks?

Can you imagine if a Premiership club did this? The media would have a field day

I suppose most teams have home, away, 3rd and 2 goalie kits so this is no different, Tătărușanu always wears short sleeves anyway.

Apart from Toulouse are there any other teams who actually wear purple?

@Cala They are inspired by a game that has been played in the center of Florence for centuries

The theme in the comments is "money grabbing".
Why? You don't have to buy them all. Just pick your favourite one and leave it with that. I seriously doubt that many supporters buy more than one shirt a year.

    Four kits? What the hell?
Great designs though but money grabbing springs to mind!

What an interesting idea. Le Coq Sportif is the best, even if it's only two clubs

@Laslow123 You are right, but at the same time it's nice to see a fresh new concept like this.

So i guess they'll have to try and wear each of them at least once during the season.
Shame they couldn't have gone with the once in the middle that has all 4 colours in it. That would've been a "Hall of shame" riot!
