Manchester City 2017-18 Nike Home Kit

Manchester City’s new 17/18 home kit by Nike incorporates performance-led apparel innovation with inspiration drawn from elements of one of the club’s most loved designs — the league title-winning 1967-68 team’s City blue shirt, white shorts and maroon-banded socks.

In pursuit of further success in 2017-18, Manchester City will wear the new Nike Vapor kit featuring Aeroswift technology and classic detailing.

The traditional City blue shirt has been updated to feature a modern round-neck with a white trim. This detail, along with the maroon band on the socks, evokes the club’s 1967-68 kit worn triumphantly by the likes of club legends Mike Summerbee, Colin Bell and Franny Lee.

Throughout the kit, Nike innovation enhances performance. The shirt’s engineered knit zones create a subtle geometric pattern that enhances fit. The sides of the kit feature a white stripe that runs the length of the shirt and shorts. Expanding when the player is in motion, the stripe maximizes ventilation. Finally, the City blue socks incorporate Nike Grip technology for the ultimate foot-to-boot connection.

The Nike templates have hardly changed for what feels like 3/4 years now! This isn't a bad kit by any stretch of the imagination but, for a club claiming to be an elite brand, the kit hardly lives up to that billing for me.

Umbro and Under Armour are producing some great kits at the moment, while even Adidas have started to introduce some individuality into their designs, ala the new Valencia shirt which is mint by the way. Even, dare I say it, New Balance are starting to steel a march on Nike.

Sadly, Nike is such a huge global organisation that the actual kits they provide pale into insignificance. It's about the revenue that can be generated and unfortunately, fans will still buy the shirts, regardless of how dull and uninspiring they are.

Nike have pulled a masterstroke, plain, and awfully simple kit, just like all the fans who follow clubs in Manchester. Retards

Nice they've returned to white shorts but I'd love to have seen this kit with a white sponsor and white names and number on the back

I like it, even though I'm not a City fan, it's much better than last season's, how ever the maroon on the socks is kinda random, I'm more into colour matching :o

@PlymouthFan You're right. Macron is producing great stuff as well. Le Coq Sportif does not make many kits, but the ones they create are lush.
