Leeds United 2019 Kappa Centenary Shirt

Leeds United 2019 Kappa Centenary Shirt #LeedsUnited #lufc

Leeds United revealed a special limited edition centenary shirt to mark their 100 year birthday.

This classic all-white Leeds kit comes with a copy of the 'Official History of Leeds United' by Andrew Dalton and in a presentation box making it a perfect collector’s item or gift for Leeds United supporters.

The first team along with every legend attending the Centenary Gala Dinner at Elland Road will be gifted the centenary shirt by chairman Andrea Radrizzani. The players will then wear the kit for the centenary match against Birmingham City on Saturday 19th October.

There are only 1,919 shirts, which are all size large, for supporters to get their hands on and each will be uniquely numbered 1 - 1,919 making them a true one off collectors piece.

Reminiscent of our early white kits, the all-white shirt features a lace up collar and there is subtle embedded print of the Yorkshire Rose on the front. Kit supplier Kappa along with sponsors 32 Red and Clipper have agreed for their logos to be in white in recognition of this very special shirt.

I've just noticed there is also a 32Red sponsorship logo faded beneath the Kappa logo

    Yuck...

One of the first kits was Blue and White stripes.
Reminiscent of the team that their founder (Hilton Crowther) came from.
Crowther wanted to move Huddersfield Town lock, stock, and barrel to Leeds in 1919 but the locals fought against him, raised the money to support their own team and Leeds United had to start afresh with a new team.

I think they wore Black and White for the first few games, the Blue and White for the next few seasons, until the Blue & Gold came in to represent the colours of the City’s coat of arms.

Can’t see them celebrating that though.

Wasn't the original Leeds kit Blue and Yellow? Also I'm sure that badge is from the mid 1990's and isn't the original either...

At least be factually correct if it's a centenary shirt
