Torquay United 2019 Nike 120th Anniversary Shirt

Torquay United released a special edition 120th anniversary shirt by Nike.

The new limited edition jersey firmly puts the club among the elite when it comes to style, with the shirt taking its cues from the club’s black and white kits of the 1930s.

Featuring a predominantly black design, a gold accent colour adds a touch of class to the club crest, Nike Swoosh, and commemorative “1899” numbering on front.

A closer look at the new minimalist version of our famous badge reveals the anniversary years on either side – 1899 on the left, 2019 on the right – while the larger numbering in what would normally be the sponsor’s spot is styled to resemble the traditional curly font seen on the classic 67-68 shirt.

When are they going to get to wear that? The National League don’t allow all black shirts- as Chesterfield found out last summer after launching their away kit.

What all this fuss about every b*o*d* black football shirt? It's a boring plain black shirt, nothing more. And while those marketing idiots say, its "cues come from the club’s black and white kits of the 1930s", there is no white in it, but gold. Well, yes. I say, utter bs.

@Kitman J Isn't it about time the National League idiots who are still living in the past realised their rubbish quality referees can wear other colours like every other league in the world? So stuck in the past they are!
