Linfield 2020-21 Umbro Away Kit

Linfield 2020-21 Umbro Away Kit #LinfieldFC #umbro #LinfieldAway

NIFL Premiership side Linfield FC have launched their new Away kit, made by Umbro.

The “purple cactus” shirt on paper doesn’t provide an obvious functional alternative to the Belfast club’s first-choice blue, but is embellished with a “shocking orange” sash running from the wearer’s left shoulder to right hip.

The club crest is embroidered in full colour on said shocking orange sash, with the Umbro logo in white on the opposite side of the chest, and the web address for Umbro - umbro.co.uk - appears front and centre in white as sponsor, increasing exposure for the kit’s manufacturer.

The cuffs of the shirt are in orange and white, perfectly tying in with the adornments on the matching purple shorts and socks.

Heritage.......is that not the excuse for Celtic waving Irish flags at games and wearing green white and gold. I’d it only heritage when it suits your own agenda.

All this fake up roar over the colour of a shirt. Personally, I don’t think it resembles the UVF. It looks more like a sash and I do believe the colours of orange and purple where worn on the sash before the UVF was formed.

All this nonsence about flag colours...... People should know a wee bi about Linfield history...... Linfield have had purple and orange away kits in the past...... The 60s for example..... So this is nothing new

Umbro have put out a statement saying that the kit was designed based on recommendations by the club itself, and that they will not be promoting it. Bit odd that given Umbro's web address is plastered across the front. While it sounds like they are laying the fallout firmly at Linfield's door, it calls into question those statements put out by sponsors whenever they link up with teams, claiming to have "shared values", "shared ambitions" and other nonsense.

It's an awful kit . The brown beige away kit they used in 2017 was far better.

Speaking as a Feenyin Kafflik Mick barsteward - whose local League of Ireland club has just courted trouble with the FAI and FIFA by announcing plans for a shirt feauring images of Che Guevara and Godd*m*-Commie-Fag-Pinko MEP (and club founder & ex-coach) Mick Wallace - that is a phenomenal Linfield shirt. Fair play to Linfield FC and the designers. I hope they sell thousands... which they will do in Glasgow... especially if Rangers FC's new deal with mini-designer-chic outfit Castore doesn't work out. It looks old and beautiful. The colours? They are fine. I won't be buying one myself, mind.
