Stade de Reims, the storied French Ligue 1 side, have launched their new, Umbro, 2020-21 season Third kit.
As an alternative to the earlier released Home and Away designs, and to celebrate their 90th birthday next year, Reims have an orange Third shirt with black - despite the club’s protestations that it’s a “tango tunic” - which nods the colours worn by the club in its first match as Stade de Reims in 1931.
Incidentally, with the French being innovators in football kit sponsorship historically, the forerunning Société Sportive du Parc Pommery’s green and yellow were chosen to nod to the look of a bottle of Pommery Champagne.

Back in 2020, the Reims shirt carries a thick shoulder and sleeve stripe, a fractured chevron, the Umbro logo and crest on the chest, branding of partners Hexaôm and Caillot and the 1931-2021 detail all in black. To tie in with this embellishment, the shorts and socks are also black, albeit with white detailing.
