VfB Stuttgart have taken to the pitch against 1. FSV Mainz 05 for this weekend’s German Bundesliga clash in a special edition version of their Home shirt.
To mark “Erinnerungstag im Deutschen Fußball” (Remembrance Day in German football), the Jako design dispenses with the usual red central band and replaces it with a rainbow version to express solidarity with oppressed and persecuted LGBT+ communities since the time of the Nazis.
These rainbow stylings are repeated in virtually every feature of the shirt, including the Jako chest branding, neck, cuffs and crest.
