This is the new SM Caen “Normandie” (Normandy) shirt by Umbro.
To be worn against En Avant Guingamp in tomorrow’s Ligue 2 clash, the new design pays tribute to the region of France the Vikings call home, with a red shirt heavily hinting at the regional flag.
As well as the cross formed from lions passant - leopards, in heraldic terms - there are the two on the lower back, fully contrasting and in full colour, and nods to the links between Normandy and England now echoed in Caen’s relationship with Umbro.

Indeed, much of the common history between Normandy and England came by way of William the Conqueror, and this is brought to mind by the "Normands et conquérants" details on the neck.
The crest is in full colour and much of the rest of the detailing is in white, while the neck and cuffs are in blue and the special collectors' shirt will be combined with blue shorts and red socks to complete the kit.
