Brazilian side Sport Club Internacional are sporting a new “Excelência Negra" - black excellence - shirt in tonight’s match with Cuiabá.
The design from adidas represents the first time “Colorado” have worn black and it is intended as an element of the “Consciência Negra” (black consciousness) initiative.
Historical pioneers in the inclusion of black players, Internacional’s release carries the partially obscured adidas stripes in contrast white, matching the crest, adidas chest logo and neck.

Also on the chest is a Black Power hair detail which sees the “É a Coroa” phrase repeated within, while the numbers on the back carry phrases highlighting black footballers’ influence on the game - both aspects are rendered in gold.
