Verein für Leibesübungen Bochum 1848 Fußballgemeinschaft, known as VfL Bochum and newly returning to the German Bundesliga in 2021-22, have revealed a special commemorative shirt.
The “700 Jahre Stadt Bochum” release celebrates seven centuries since Count Engelbert II von der Marck granted Bochum a town charter and the design reflects this with dedicated detailing and a city emblem in the standard crest position.
The shirt, which will be worn in pre-season matches this summer, is in blue with navy sleeves and carries the occasion’s graphic in the central sponsor position. It also heavily features the years 1321 and 2021 along with the significant numbers 1848 and 4630 - the latter the historical Bochum postcode and also the amount of individually numbered shirts on sale.
