Former Arsenal and England captain Tony Adams spoke to Radio 4's Today programme about the prevalence of gambling companies sponsoring football teams. Asked whether he thought such sponsorship should stop, he said: "Yes absolutely. I think it's time. Like the alcohol sponsorship of the past."

But actually, there is nothing to stop alcohol companies sponsoring football teams in the English Premier League - it is down to the clubs to choose their sponsors.

    Teams should be able to choose whoever they like. If the fans don’t like it, then the club will decide on that too. But clubs want to be financially viable and not some SJW narcissistically empathetic.
