League president Dr. Reinhard Rauball and the CEO of adidas Herbert Hainer have unveiled the first ever official football for the Bundesliga which will be used in the upcoming season. They made the announcement from Germany's headquarters in Pretoria and it is the first official football in the history of the Bundesliga.
The design is centered around the official Bundesliga colours of white and red and will also feature a copy of the official league logo. The ball, which will be used for the first time on 7th August when FC Bayern München come up against FC Schalke 04 in the Supercup, has been christened "Torfabrik" ("Goal Material") and will be available in stores starting on 1st July.

With this new ball adidas is underlining their position as the number one football brand in the world. Adidas acquired the rights after an open, transparent and non-discriminatory process.
