An in-depth look at the Arsenal 1988-91 Away kit, made famous of course in that stunning final game of the 1988-89 season when George Graham's side clinched the title thanks to a last minute goal in the 2-0 win over Liverpool.
However, the kit was also worn when the side captured less prestigious silverware in the shape of the 1988 Wembley International Tournament (following a 3-0 win over Bayern Munich) and the following year in the same tournament (then known as the Makita International Tournament) after beating Liverpool again.
The kit mirrored the design of the home in yellow and navy, a variation on the classic Arsenal away palette that adidas had introduced in and featured raglan sleeves, trimmed adidas three-stripe taping and a shadow pattern of alternately styled stripes and small badge motifs.
The team badge didn't appear on the shorts and instead was replaced by an AFC monogram.
A selection of players who wore the strip included Paul Merson, Michael Thomas, David Rocastle, Lee Dixon, Alan Smith and Tony Adams.
The strip lasted for a relatively unusual three seasons, although in its last year of use a new adidas number font was introduced on the reverse and small Football League sleeve patches were also added.
It was eventually replaced as the team's change kit by another 'classic', the infamous 'Bruised Banana' strip....but that's a whole different story.
