We regularly feature Puma designer Emre Gultekin’s wonderful club and international side kit histories, so one dedicated to the Brazilian national team - taking in adidas, Topper, Umbro, Nike and more - could hardly be omitted.
As always, the back catalogue of designs is handled expertly and sensitively, with Emre’s talent beautifully capturing the essence of both the iconic first-choice - “Home” - stylings and that of the largely blue change options.
The white that was abandoned in the wake of the 1950 “Maracanazo” - and recently partially resurrected - is also covered, but we naturally gravitate to the kits of the Seleção’s World Cup victories, with further interest saved for curios like the long-sleeved 1999 Copa América redemption for the Nike shirt associated with “O Fenômeno” Ronaldo’s dramatic France ’98.
