Manchester United have unveiled a new range from adidas (Originals), centred around Mancunian - or “Madchester” - band the Stone Roses.
Under the tagline “Roses Are Red” (the band’s singer, Ian Brown, for one, is a notable Man Utd supporter), the new collection is inspired by the song “This Is the One”, from the Stone Roses’ eponymous debut album and a club anthem, and includes t-shirts, sweat and track tops - including a reversible jacket - bottoms, a pre-match top, a bucket hat and a scarf, with stylings from guitarist John Squire’s cover artwork and lemons featuring heavily.
Some Trefoil-carrying items feature an amended version of the club’s crest and the German supplier’s famous three-stripe branding appears in blue, red and white.
