As part of Umbro’s new “Nations 2022” campaign, Brazilian side Associação Chapecoense de Futebol have a new green third shirt which celebrates ties with Italy.
Chapecoense’s Santa Catarina home boasts a significant Italian diaspora, and like “Il Grande Torino”’s Superga air disaster, Chapecoense have experienced an aviation tragedy, bringing the two clubs together - as with this release.
With a pattern mixing the “ACF” initialism with local foliage, the base is overlaid with golden detailing, including the crest, Umbro’s logos and other partner branding.

The neck and cuffs feature both a deep blue to represent the Italian national side and the green, white and red of Italy’s Tricolore flag, while the shirt contains the messages, in Italian, ““Uniti Dal Destino” (united by destiny) and “Chape e Torino, Amici Per Semper” (...friends forever) and complementing shorts and socks will be worn with the shirt when it is called upon.
Torino have a green shirt nodding to Chapecoense to return the gesture.
