Everton 2022-23 Hummel Third Kit

Everton FC have unveiled their new Third kit for the 22/23 season.

Everton and hummel have put the iconic Prince Rupert's Tower at the heart of the Club's 2022/23 third kit design.

The striking yellow and blue offering features the tower icon in place of the full Club crest, with the tower outline also reflected in a pattern that runs across the bottom section of the shirt and takes its inspiration from a feature of the popular yellow kit worn by Everton between 1990 and 1992.

Prince Rupert’s Tower, built on Netherfield Road in the Everton district of Liverpool, opened in 1787 and stands to this day. It has featured on Everton’s club crests since 1938.

Everton adopted the tower icon as a branding mark in June 2021 and it has been visible on merchandise as well as across Club marketing materials and content ever since.

Like the shirt, the playing shorts and socks are yellow with blue chevrons and detailing.

The tower icon features on the front of the shorts and, mirroring this season’s home and away shorts, the hummel logo appears on the rear.

Appalling. The weird arrow thing is the worst crest in football. They’ve tried to do what Liverpool and Arsenal have done but simplified the crest too much.

They could've at least put a freaking window in it FFS. Talk about minimalist.

I saw a mock-up on Twitter using the actual tower from the crest and it looks a million times better.

The badge re-do is an insult to any tradition associated with Everton.
As for the shirt Hummel are trying way too hard.

This could have been a classic without that sponsor.

My first reaction was "Oh dear", but we have to see an away/3rd shirt in a different context to home shirts. I imagine we could see United with just a red devil on future shirts, re-versioning of several club logos and so on - as a fashion garment more than a playing shirt? This doesnt really work in this instance, because it is just a rectangle with a triangle on top - there is nothing that obviously speaks to "Everton", and many fans have commented a script text of EFC would have been far better (works well for WBA this season).

I truly believe Hummel have had a major change in employment at designer level this season. A 'fresh younger face'. And he/she is an admonition.

As an Everton fan, really disappointed with all 3 Hummel kits this year. We have a perfect simplified badge used in the 80s but they went with the laziest design in the football league. The gk kit that goes with this is a perfect retro throwback but still ruined by STAKE

Tower design on the bottom of the search looks hideous, and the tower replacing the crest is hilarious. Really messed up what could’ve been a classy yellow kit. Still not as bad as the bin dippers away shirt though 🤣
