Fortuna Düsseldorf pays tribute to the city’s deep-rooted connection with Japan through a bold special-edition kit release. Düsseldorf is home to Germany’s largest Japanese community, giving rise to the vibrant "Little Tokyo" – a district known for its ramen shops, izakayas, sushi bars, and cultural landmarks like the Japanese Garden and the EKŌ House’s Buddhist temple.
The club's latest release celebrates this bond with two standout shirts: “Katana” and “Daruma”. The Katana shirt comes in black and red, covered in stylised manga-style panels referencing traditional Japanese iconography. The name reflects the elegance and power of the Japanese sword, a symbol of precision and heritage.
The Daruma shirt is presented in blue and white with red accents, echoing the iconic daruma figure, known for perseverance and good fortune. Its design features the same comic-style visuals as the Katana shirt.
