Leicester City 2022-23 Adidas Home Kit

Leicester City have revealed their new 22/23 home kit by adidas.

Combining features such as the prominent white collar and neck trim – synonymous with the Jimmy Bloomfield sides of the 1970s – and the popular ‘dynamic fox’ made famous by the likes of Gary Lineker and Alan Smith in the 1980s, the 2022/23 home shirt carries iconic elements of shirts of past eras.

The shirt features adidas AEROREADY technology, containing a minimum of 60% recycled content.

Boring AF. And guess what my team Leeds will also have a horrible generic kit design too passed off as a homage to the past

It would be a nice shirt if we hadn't seen it before, but unfortunately we have... over and over again. This just displays a total lack of respect for the fans in expecting them to fork out £63.00 for something that looks - save for the "iconic" collar - almost identical to last year's shirt.

Really decent, if not plain shirt spolied by an awful & overly big sponsor that just looks hand applied by the kit man

Adidas only make any sort of effort for about 6 teams . This looks like someone has found a batch of Ipswich shirts from the 70s !!! Have Adidas still got a design team if so they should start earning their money .

    The bigger the firm the more generic the end product, unfortunately. At least it isn't as bad as last season. Adidas and Nike will never make 'bespoke', like Macron for eg., kits specific to clubs. They are too big. The problem is clubs get PAID by firms to produce kit. If I want a bespoke leather jacket Ior suit I PAY the firm. End of.

      @Geoff In todays market to get a genuinely 'bespoke' original kit you would have to produce it yourself via a firm which exclusively sold to your club. And the club would have to pay, not the producer. Never gonna happen these days. Capitalism has well and truly won. Best a club can hope for is a 'close relationship' with a firm such as Macron and they will go further than Adidas or Nike will. Look at the Bradford City kit. The Adidas kits of the 70s and 80s were classics and were original to some clubs because it wasn't all about profit. Remember clubs had the same kit for at least 2 seasons usually back then. Because they didn't want to fleece the fans. Changed days lol.

      @Geoff Wth is a bespoke kit …
      Like some crappy print .. bitd adidas admiral umbro le coq sportif Patrick they had basically two styles or mix of em each season or 2 … and that’s when kits were good ie late 70s earlyand mid 80s

      I partly agree but when I was a lot younger , all Adidas teams whatever league they were in got bespoke shirts . Times change and companies are more cash conscious . Nike weren't even making kits for UK teams !!!! It's just nice to think your team has something no one else has .

This is the very worst kind of kit release - trying to pass off what is basically an Adidas template we’ll see across the world in a million different colours as something unique to Leicester. And which ‘dynamic fox’ are they referring to? That badge has only been around since the 90s and was definitely never worn by Lineker or Smith. This feels like it was written by a 15 year old who’s never heard of the people he’s writing about, let alone seen them play.
Having said that, I suppose they can’t just say “Adidas showed us some templates, this is the one we picked”
