Designed by Brazilian drag queen and singer Pabllo Vittar, this is the new adidas Major League Soccer (MLS) “Pride Top”.
The 2024 shirt featuring a “LOVE UNITES” legend is in silver and black - officially, “Black Melange”, black and “Mls-Ssf-S23” - with a rainbow effect that evokes that caused by an oil spill, and this is overlaid with gold detailing, including, on the upper back, the Portuguese phrase “SEM CONFIANÇA NÃO HÁ NADA” (“WITHOUT CONFIDENCE THERE’S NOTHING”).
To be worn pre-match by MLS teams - each with their crest on the chest, colour-converted to gold - the release is being accompanied with the league making a donation, in celebration of Pride month, to LGBTQI+-equality-championing organisation Athlete Ally.
