I quite like it. Shame about the betting website.

The outrage at sport washing I get but maybe it's part and parcel of life these days. How different to Man City/PSG etc? Folk can't wait to jet off to Dubai.

Saudi is of course an oppressive state but things are changing for the better at speed. Khasoggi affair notwithstanding. Maybe in a few generations it'll be a lot closer to west (excl some US states) with regards human rights. Always been a battle between the pious folk and the ruling family though.

It's not perfect now - my first flight into Riyadh 12 years ago shocking - the queues of guest labour second class citizens where us westerners VIP'd through after the locals.

Got a lot of very sound Saudi friends who couldn't give a toss about your religion, sexuality etc. It's a shame for them this backlash is so strong and bitter.

Most people are decent wherever you go. The majority of a nations populace have nothing to do with the regime in control. Even in the UK. The Saudi regime is so rich and powerful, with various factions etc the best that country can hope for is a radical reformer(s) seizing control somehow, making it more secular and egalitarian. Cannot see it in my lifetime unfortunately.

Well, it's just the worst kit of all time isn't it. Newcastle United wearing a knock-off Saudi Arabia kit. Looks cheap and nasty. Oh, and a massive betting company logo plastered on the front to cheapen it further. Sportswashing FC in full effect. Embarrassing.

I used to have a soft spot for this club, but not now. I genuinely feel for the fans who went from Ashley to this. A flase wealth with a hollow heart. The club looks very Saudi-esque. There will be many wanting this new era to be just as dissapointing as the Ashley era, but it won't, because endless money will eventually buy you some form of success. It's a sad story.

It's a great city, club and fan base. Which is ironically why this group chose to buy it. As if asset-stripper fat Ashley wasn't bad enough. He may as well be Gandhi in comparison to this lot. And its almost impossible to get rid of rich owners, look at Man Utd. Fans boycotting matches over a prolonged period is the only way to go. But the majority won't do it I imagine.

Uninspiring kit, and a club that deserves it.

Always had a soft spot for Newcastle and its fans, but thats long gone since they were bought out. Club is rotten, their fans arrogant and pathetic (wearing saudi dress on the terraces ffs).

I hope it all goes horribly wrong, and they go down, and that the Saudi ownership drops them in it.
