As a standalone offering it really is unlike anything Newcastle have worn in my lifetime. It is a pity that the link is clear to see and to be judged on that alone is fair.
The kit is actually quite smart. It is has a look about it that sets it apart from similar efforts and the colourway balance is well done.
It is a shame it will be talked about for other reasons not football related and therefore most likely will not be worn very often either.
I think it looks quite sharp and modern.

If you steal this shirt you get your right hand 'lazer cut'. And '130 years' inside. It even says it on the back of the shirt...
Unless you are upper class or royalty, of course.

I saw this ‘leaked’ kit a few weeks ago and thought someone made it as a joke, but they’ve actually gone and done it!

To be honest I can see this being a Castore designer 'concept' by a politically ignorant Art/Design graduate who felt the club should 'celebrate the Saudi connection' via this kit. Or Castore were ordered to by the owners lol. Or else. Either way there are people at Newcastle who could have nipped this in the bud but chose not to bite the blood-soaked hand that now feeds them.

"The Premier League approved the takeover after receiving "legally binding assurances" that the Saudi state would not control the club."

Well it's good to see no evidence of that influence whatsoever, Shakes head (or should that be Sheik's Head?)

Come on then Toon Army, defend it on that specific front...
