Legendary Uruguayan Primera División side Club Atlético Peñarol have unveiled their 2023-24 Away and Third shirts.
The Puma change options manifest a theory - also demonstrated by the likes of Barcelona and Crystal Palace in the past - that teams with two main colours as first choice can have kits in each of these colours as their alternates, with Peñarol now having a black Away and yellow Third.
The Away features a saltire graphic with gold embellishment, while the Third boasts an enlargement of the crest as a shadow print and the kits are completed with black shorts and yellow shorts, respectively, and complementing socks, and there are also references to Peñarol’s 1891 foundation and the fact their colours are inspired by George Stephenson’s “Rocket” steam locomotive.
