This is the new South Africa “Alternate” shirt from Le Coq Sportif.
The fourth men’s release from the French brand this year, this largely white 2024 number for Bafana Bafana echoes the look of the green Away in suggesting designs from the 1990s - as well as that of the previous Alternate - deconstructed in its grey sublimation.
The Le Coq Sportif logo and the crests are in monochrome, though curiously the South African Football Association identifier is in full colour on the shorts combined with the shirt at launch, and the kit, which is being taken to January and February’s 2023 African Cup of Nations (AFCON/CAN) in Côte d’Ivoire, will be completed with white socks.
