This is the 2023-24 Sporting Clube de Portugal - Sporting Lisbon - Third shirt, carrying the branding of former player Cristiano Ronaldo (“CR7”).
The new Nike secondary-change release for the Portuguese Primeira Liga side - dubbed “Pele de Leão” (“Lion Skin”) - is in black with gold raglan sleeves and white accents, nodding to the design worn in the second half of Sporting’s 2003 match against Manchester United that ushered in Ronaldo’s move to the English side and triggered two decades of spectacular success.
That match also served as the inauguration of Sporting’s José Alvalade Stadium, which now celebrates its 20th birthday, and the commemorative palette takes in the crest and the matching shorts and socks that complete the kit.
