Watford FC have unveiled their new home kit for the 2023/24 season, once again collaborating with Kelme.

This season's kit showcases diagonal etched stripes, where the black detail has been scratched away to allow the Watford yellow to take centre stage.

Drawing inspiration from Kelme's initial Watford kit in the 2020/21 season, the new shirt features a black raglan sleeve paired with a yellow back. Under-arm panels provide a snug fit, while the jacquard knit fabric ensures a lightweight and breathable feel, making it suitable for both on-field performance and streetwear fashion.

I sometimes think you’re ****ed if you don’t and you’re ****ed if you do when it comes to kits - go too traditional and it’s boring, try something new and it’s ugly. I liked the first Kelme kit with the black bits radiating out from behind the badge, even though it got slated - it was trying something different, and it was undeniably bold. I think this one might be a step too far - there’s way too much black - maybe if those shoulder panels were yellow it would look a bit less… try hard

I'm not a Hornet but I like the fact that Watford do try different styles. Is it my favourite shirt ever, of course not, but sometimes you have to push the envelope. Being adventurous with the kit does not make a team a laughing stock. Changing the manager every five minutes doesn't help though!
