Middlesbrough Football Club, currently of the EFL Championship, have launched a new retro range, from which this 1995-96-season Home shirt is a standout piece.
Celebrating one of Boro’s spells in the Premier League, when they were also kitted out by current supplier Erreà, the reissue red primary design brings to mind many of the stars the Teesside-based English side had in their ranks at the time, including Nick Barmby, Jan Åge Fjørtoft and, of course, Brazilians Branco and Juninho.
1995-96 also saw the switch to the Riverside Stadium and this white- and navy-trimmed shirt, benefitting from the permitted inclusion of Erreà’s logo, transports Boro fans and fans of English football in general back to the early days of the high-profile rebranding of England’s top flight.
