Alan commented: "Inverness Caledonian Thistle has played an important role in putting the city on the UK map and is a vital pillar of the community. As a business which has its roots firmly in the Highland capital we wanted to show our support for the club and players in what looks set to be a fantastic season.

"Along with the Caledonian Thistle fans and the Inverness and Highlands business community we are excited about seeing the club make a return to the SPL."

Club chairman George Fraser said: "This is exciting news which will be warmly welcomed by our fans. Orion Group is, like ourselves, a Highland success story and they have a long connection of assisting this club. Orion founder and chairman Alan Savage is a former Caley Thistle chairman and we're delighted that he has agreed an arrangement which will see our players wear the Orion name and logo on their shirts.

"The two year deal gives us very welcome continuity and financial stability following the expiry of our deal with FlyBe. Our directors are putting together a budget for the SPL and Orion Group's input is very significant and beneficial. We anticipate the connection strengthening on various fronts."

Orion Group sponsors a number of sports projects in the Highlands including the Inverness Primary Football League and the Highland Rugby Club.

The sponsorship deal is an important part of Orion's Community Vision programme which sees the company support a number of charities and organisations within the Highlands, including Highland Hospice and Marie Curie Cancer Care.
