Everton 95/96 player shirt by Umbro believed to have been match worn by Ablett in the 1995-96 Cup Winners Cup 2nd Round 2nd leg match against Feyenoord played at De Kuip, Rotterdam on the 2nd November 1995.

Ablett played the full match as Everton suffered a 1-0 defeat that cost them their place in the competition. The Toffee's could not find a reply to Regi Blinker's first half goal and after the 0-0 draw at Goodison Park in the 1st leg the result it was not enough despite putting in a spirited performance in a rain swept Rotterdam.

The result left Nottingham Forest as England's only representatives in European competition into the new year causing the FA to call a crisis meeting following a harrowing week for Premier League clubs. It was the club's first European campaign for 11 years and Joe Royle's '95 FA Cup winners had beaten KR-Reykjavik in the 1st Round. The experienced defender Ablett had joined the club in '92 from rivals Liverpool and spent 4 years with The Blues before a move to Birmingham City.
