Adidas 1977 Luxembourg Match Worn Home Shirt

Luxembourg 1977 player shirt by Adidas believed to have been match worn by Barthel in the 1978 World Cup Qualification Group 2 match against England played at Stade Municipal, Luxembourg City on the 12th October '77.

Barthel played the full match as the minnows were beaten 2-0 by England who found the net through Ray Kennedy and Paul Mariner.

It was a subdued affair though with the Three Lions almost certain to miss out on a place in Argentina to Italy while Luxembourg were rooted to the foot of the table and went on to lose all six of their matches conceding 22 goals. Barthel represented his country only 3 times in his career but he picked a good time to do so wearing this superb vintage design kit.
