West Ham United 1982-83 player shirt by Adidas believed to have been match worn by Bonds in the friendly match against HJK Helsinki played in Finland on the 17th August 1982.
The match came two days after a trip to Holland to play Den Haag where The Hammers had won 2-0 and they continued their winning ways here with a 1-0 victory secured by an Alan Devonshire goal.
The captain and hero Bonds played the full match as you would expect and went on to surpass Bobby Moore's club record of appearances in this campaign and helped the side to an 8th place finish. It was the last season that this superb first Adidas design was used, a kit that had been introduced in 1980. Bonds started his career for the club well before that back in 1967 and was a lynchpin of the side through to his retirement over two decades later in 1988.
